May 23rd - The long awaited day when all of Barnstaple’s traffic problems resolved themselves!
Thousands of holidaymakers every year describe Barnstaple as ’Home of the traffic jam’. From May 23rd all of this changed!

Barnstaple town was greatly freed from traffic as the new bypass directed traffic over the new bridge. Local residents patiently waited two years for the works to be completed and now that they have, the changes will benefit everyone. No more major queues into Barnstaple in the mornings? The new bypass opening also coincided coincided with works being carried out on The Square. This enabled traffic to be able to use the new road layout which changed the traffic flow in the town centre. Have you noticed the benefits yet?
