GARDEN PARTY for Cancer Research UK.
Harracott House, Harracott, Nr Barnstaple
Saturday 16th June, 2.30pm - 5.00pm

A fabulous garden party in the grounds of Harracott House is to be held on Saturday 16th June to help raise much needed funds for Cancer Research UK.

The event, which is being arranged by the Barnstaple fundraising branch of Cancer Research UK, with kind permission from the home’s owners Judith and Anthony Kauntze, promises to be a fun and entertaining afternoon with much to see and do.

As well as visitors being able to wander around this extensive garden with its pond, vegetable gardens, wooded area and traditional croquet lawn, there’ll be musical entertainment from the Swingboat Quintet, a family dog show, croquet competitions, a nature trail for the children, face-painting, various stalls and traditional cream teas being served on the lawn.

This is the third garden party that the Barnstaple branch of Cancer Research UK has organised and it promises to be even better than before.

Said Chairman, Dr Joyce Vale: “Our Garden Parties are a great success and it is hoped that we will be able to raise lots of money for the Charity. This year’s dog show looks to be a popular event and I’m sure many people will enjoy having a go at playing croquet, after all it’s good fun.”

“There is a traditional Devon cream tea included in the admission price and visitors will be able to relax and enjoy it while listening to music from one of Devon’s best Jazz quintets.”

There will be six classes for the dog show and the prize for the best in the show will go to the dog that the Judge would most like to take home! Judging will start at 3.00pm so register as early as possible. If you’d like more information, please telephone 01271 890684 or 871324.

The gardens are open from 2.30pm and the entrance fee is just £5.00 to include a cream tea, £3.00 for children under 12 and free for under 5’s.

Harracott House will be directed from the A377.
