I’m sure that everyone has now heard the news about the Mural wall? If not, here are some details.
The decision was finally made in August, after the re-opening of the refitted Co-op in Sticklepath, to use the wall alongside their premises to become a Mural wall. This decision was made by the Co-op and the local police, with the council offering help as well.
A competition has been organised whereby local residents can enter their ideas and designs. The winners will then have their designs professionally painted onto the wall by a professional artist.
This will mean the wall will then become a COMMUNITY Mural.
If you haven’t already entered, you must hurry up as the closing date is 5th October. Application forms are available from the Co-op or the police station. Forms have already been handed out to pupils at Sticklepath School and the Art Department at North Devon College but any local residents can also enter.
After the closing date a panel will then decide on the best designs which will be given to a professional artist who will then work his magic on the wall.
There will also be a community day during October, which amongst other events will be a day to award the prizes for the designs that will be used. Lantern FM will be on hand through the day and Black Thunder will be arriving to give out treats etc.
This wall will be something that the community can be proud of, as it will be a local feature designed by local residents.
Don’t forget the closing date of 5th October, hurry up and get your entries in!
