Hi again, and welcome to our ‘October’ Edition’! Before we go any further, may we say a huge thank you for all the fantastic feedback we have received about our new distribution areas.

We have loads of events happening in our area again this month. You really know that Autumn is here when events such as Conker Championships, Cider Festival, Scarecrow Convention, Apple Day & Pumpkin Day start appearing. Find out dates and venues for all these fun days in the Event Diary..

We are also nearing Halloween, when the kids get their costumes on and have fun ‘trick or treating’. If you would rather the children don’t knock on your door, we have a special poster which you can print out and place on your front door. Please be respectful of the elderly when you are ‘trick or treating’.

If you fancy a party to celebrate Halloween why not enter our competition, courtesy of ‘The Big Sheep’ and win your family tickets to their Halloween Evening Party on Thursday 30th October? You can then go along to the ‘Wrey Arms’ on Friday 31st to dance the night away at their very own party.

The children have literally only just gone back to school but before you know it they will be on their October half-terms again! Thankfully there is lots to keep them amused. How about entering our competition to win a family ticket for four people on the ropes course, courtesy of ‘The Ultimate High’ in Bideford.

Last month’s competition prize winner was Louisa Clatworthy of Pilton who won herself a full body bali sun tanning treatment and a full leg wax, courtesy of ‘Naturally Yours’ in Fremington.

Five lucky winners also received a compost bin and kit, courtesy of Portfolio holder for recycling and local councillor, Rodney Cann.

Don’t forget that the clocks go BACK as well in October, British Summer Time ends on Sunday 26th October.
