POLICE UPDATE -
ROUNDSWELL & STICKLEPATH
.

Hi Everybody

I hope that the summer holidays went well, even if the weather didn’t.
Having just returned from my annual leave, I am still catching up with what has been happening within our area, but I can bring give you an update with what I was dealing with before I finished.

Firstly, I am very pleased to report that after a lot of hard work and the use of a covert camera, two persons were caught & charged with causing all the damage to St Paul’s Church. They will appear in court in the near future.

Secondly, I have been voicing my concerns to the Manager of the Sainsburys supermarket, regarding the number of trolleys that find themselves onto the nearby and not so nearby residential housing estates.

He has assured me that his staff are sent out to collect these trolleys, several times a week. He has asked me to mention to all the residents that if they do find any trolleys would they please contact the store on 01271 325498 and they will make arrangements to get the trolleys collected.

With regards to a more long-term solution to this problem, I am working in conjunction with the local councillors and the store to try and resolve this problem.

Finally

I am very pleased to say that the first meeting of the Woodville Residents Group was held at the Sticklepath Community School, during the school summer holidays. The meeting was very well attended by local residents, North Devon Homes, local councillors and ourselves. During the meeting a committee was duly elected.

I found the meeting to be very positive, with a number of issues being raised.
During the meeting I was approached by 3 residents with the view to forming Neighbourhood Watch Groups. I shall give an update on their progress, in my next article.
If any other residents would like to form a NHW Group or would like to learn more about starting one then they can contact me on the details below.

The next meeting of the Woodville Residents Group will be held at the school on the 7th October at 7pm. If any residents would like to come, please feel free to come along and join in the meeting, especially if there are any issues that you would like to raise.

Regards
Tony
