How will it affect your community?

North Devon Council and Torridge District Council are working together to prepare what is called a ‘Core Strategy’. This document will set out the vision and objectives for delivering future development across northern Devon until 2026.

A draft Core Strategy has now been published, with proposals for Barnstaple and Fremington including:

6,000 new homes
2,100 affordable housing                       
Employment land and 6,300 new jobs              
New schools and medical centre
Town centre and waterfront enhancement
Community park

Various public information days are now planned to go through the proposals with you, explain how these proposals were reached and to give you a chance to have your say. These include:
