Pink Lady

The original “girly drink” was made with gin but, nowadays, white rum is often substituted.

The pink colour was due to the use of crème de cassis but grenadine is often used instead.

To make a Pink Lady mix 3 parts of gin (Plymouth originally) with one part of crème de cassis (or grenadine) and 2 parts of cream. Add the juice of half a lemon and half an    orange with the white of an egg and shake well with ice cubes before    straining into a cocktail glass over ice cubes.
