If you’re going out with a loved one this Valentine’s Day, this is one night when making a little bit of effort is imperative! Anything less shouts ‘can’t be bothered to dress up for you’ – if you love him or her, spend some time making yourself look gorgeous!
For the ladies, a touch of red is a great start! If you’re not brave enough to flaunt it in a scarlet dress (and, let’s face it, red doesn’t suit every skin tone), wear beige, navy or grey, livened up with a splash of a shade of red. This can be achieved with clever accessorising - try a smart burgundy handbag or shoes, a jaunty raspberry scarf, a red patent leather belt or red or pink jewellery for Valentine’s glamour with a twist. A large heart pendant (or anything else with hearts on) will show off the fun side of your personality.
A mini dress, a skirt or even jeans and a lovely top or camisole can all look equally lovely – but make sure your outfit is pretty and appealing rather than overtly sexy and it needs to suit your body shape. Think soft and sensual and you can’t go wrong.
Glamorise with your highest heels or your sexiest boots. Wearing red lipstick (scarlet for the young and extroverted, a darker more subtle shade for the rest of us) makes any woman look beautiful; be sure to apply with care; smudged lipstick or lipstick on teeth doesn’t make a mouth look kissable. And wear your lipstick with a smile!
For the guys, you need to smarten up tonight to show her she’s worth it! You can’t beat a classic pair of jeans or chinos, a nice shirt and blazer or jacket. Attention to detail with personal grooming would also be appreciated by your Valentine!
Don’t forget a splash of scent to finish off your Valentine’s Day look – have a great Valentine’s Day. You’re looking fabulous!
