The Olive Tree Restaurant, Durrant House Hotel

If you want excellent food combined with value for money in opulent surroundings and service that makes you feel very special, then you must try ‘The Olive Tree’ Restaurant at Durrant House Hotel.

The moment that you enter the splendid marble reception, you know that you are somewhere special. This feeling of grandeur is only increased as you enter ‘The Olive Tree’ restaurant with its wood panelling and decoratively painted ceilings. Service in the restaurant by its cosmopolitan staff is swift, friendly and efficient. Taking the time to make sure all your requirements are met and taking an interest in your day makes the service feel personal to you and your party.

Various menus are available to suit all pockets including the ‘Plat de Jour’ and full ‘A Là Carte’ menus. Selecting from the mouth watering menus is a difficult task with choices of Grills, Catch of the day, Italian and House Specialities.

On our visit, I chose Chicken Gloucester. Tender Chicken topped with a rich double gloucester cheese sauce, garnished with smoked ham, all wrapped in puff pastry. This was absolutely delicious and mouth watering served with sauté potatoes and a selection of market fresh vegetables.

Lisa chose the Fillet Steak and Mushroom Wellington. A prime fillet steak topped with a fusion of mushrooms and paté spiked with cointreau all wrapped in puff pastry. The steak was cooked to perfection and together with the amazing topping made Lisa want for more. Again this was accompanied by sauté potatoes and market fresh vegetables.
